It’s not all about the celebrities here, though. Vivid’s archive holds some of mainstream porn’s finest moments, presenting them in HD video streams for your endless viewing pleasure. At $33.97-a-month, a Vivid membership isn’t the cheapest choice on the ‘net, but the legendary status of this studio is bound to bring in many curious parties eager for the world’s greatest porn.

Pros:
Vivid made its name in the mainstream, glam-tinged porn world of the 80s and 90s before pivoting to focus on celebrity sex tapes and pseudo-pornos. With an A-lister like Kim Kardashian featured prominently and some lesser known (but still super hot) celeb babes sucking and fucking in genuine candid videos, Vivid offers a unique perspective on sex, celebrity, and media.

From handheld VHS-shot vintage sex tapes to brilliant, colorful, chaotic orgies shot for contemporary Vivid features, this epic studio site holds a wide range of content and touches on various kinks, fetishes, physical types, sexual arrangements, and taboo subjects. Streaming in 720p and often 1080p HD, Vivid’s collection can look really damn good!

Vivid could get away with providing no more than its own epic 7500-scene porn archive but its recent addition to the Adult Time stable of sites ensures members are never left wanting. Adult Time holds a gosh darn gargantuan amount of porn, much of it among the best going today, and all Vivid members now receive free access to it all.

Cons:
It may have revived Vivid’s reputation for sexual extravagance but unfortunately most of the celebrity sex content is quite weak. For most, watching Tila Tequila take it up the ass will be little more than a curiosity. The Tom Sizemore videos… they’re a morbid curiosity. Kim K Superstar is obviously an important and influential porn film if ever there was one (intentionally or not) but most sex tapes here are remarkably dull.

Vivid has fallen from the top for the porno heap in recent years. Still committed to home video long after most distributors had gone completely digital, Vivid is a classic porn studio for a reason. The most recently produced Vivid titles do look good and play well but much of the Vivid collection feels a bit dated. Not only that but the updates have stopped landing at Vivid and now head straight to Vivid’s Adult Time chanel.

Vivid is a media powerhouse but that isn’t stopping its web crew from flooding the members area with advertising. This can get quite annoying after a while, especially since much of the advertising is promoting Vivid and its related sites. You’re already here for Vivid, so this just seems like heavy pressure to never, ever leave.

Vivid Video isn’t called Vivid Video for nothing. Although photo content is online here, there isn’t that much of it to speak of. Most galleries hold less than a dozen shots and though they can reach 3600px, they’re not likely to satisfying serious photo fans. Unfortunately, many scenes cannot be downloaded and must be streamed online from your browser window.

Conclusion:
While it’s obvious Vivid Video is not the industry leader it once was, this legendary studio still has plenty to offer the discerning porn fan. A mammoth archive loaded with HD videos at 720p and 1080p, with classic porn galore for retro-minded viewers and the world’s premiere collection of officially released celebrity sex tapes, gives porn fans plenty of reasons to throw their time, money, and bodily fluids Vivid’s way. Adult Time has absorbed Vivid and the archive can be viewed both at that network or on Vivid’s own website; there are some disparities between the two, though, that will hopefully be ironed out before long. Ads aplenty can make the Vivid members area a bit tedious to wade through but the strength of the content should keep more seasoned porn fans more than happy to make the best of it. The future isn’t totally clear for Vivid but even with intense competition coming from all corners of the porn world, this legendary studio still has plenty to offer.
